About RoamRate
A small, deliberately narrow app, funded by people buying it once.
RoamRate is an offline-first currency converter for iPhone, built for travellers and digital nomads. It converts with no internet connection, is designed to be used with one hand, and shows what everyday things typically cost locally so you can tell when a price is out of line.

What it is not
It does not move money, show rate charts or history, handle cryptocurrency, or run on Android. If you need any of those, RoamRate is the wrong tool and the comparison pages point you at better ones.
How it is funded
By people paying $4.99, once. That is the entire business model, and it is why there are no ads, no analytics, no account and no tracking — none of those are needed when the customer is the customer. The privacy policy is short for the same reason.
Why we tell people not to buy it
Several pages on this site point out that the iPhone already includes a free offline currency converter, and that for a lot of people it is enough. That is deliberate. An app bought by someone who did not need it gets deleted and refunded, and we would rather be useful to the people it genuinely fits.
