What catches people out in Hungary
Forint prices run to five figures for ordinary things, which makes it easy to misread a restaurant bill by a factor of ten.
When this rule stops working
Rules of thumb rot quietly. This one holds while the rate stays roughly between 355 and 365 HUF to the euro. Outside that band a different divisor becomes the better one to memorise.
