What catches people out in Iceland

Iceland is effectively cashless and expensive, so the rule is mostly there to stop the four-figure restaurant totals from causing a panic.

When this rule stops working

Rules of thumb rot quietly. This one holds while the rate stays roughly between 145 and 155 ISK to the franc. Outside that band a different divisor becomes the better one to memorise.
