What catches people out in Taiwan
Night-market prices sit almost entirely between 30 and 300, so learning that band by feel beats converting every item.

Rules of thumb rot quietly. This one holds while the rate stays roughly between 24.5 and 25.5 TWD to the Singapore dollar. Outside that band a different divisor becomes the better one to memorise.
